    Plot Summary

    The Weiss family are an archetypical Hollywood dynasty - Dr Stafford Weiss (John Cusack) is a psychotherapist whose self-help books have made him a fortune. His wife Cristina (Olivia Williams) is the overbearing mom-ager of their thirteen-year old son, Benjie (Evan Bird), a prodigious child star fresh out of drug rehab and their estranged daughter Agatha (Mia Wasikowska) has recently been released from a psychiatric hospital. Agatha is now back in Hollywood  making friends with a wannabe actor/writer limo driver named Jerome (Robert Pattinson) and with a new job as PA to one of Stafford’s clients - the neurotic and tempestuous actress Havana Segrand (Julianne Moore), whose dream of reprising her dead mother’s starring role from the 1960s is beginning to haunt her.

    The Hundred-Foot Journey

    Plot Summary

    Hassan Kadam (Manish Dayal) is a culinary ingénue with the gastronomic equivalent of perfect pitch. When Hassan and his family, led by Papa (Om Puri), move to a quaint village in the South of France with the grand plan of opening an Indian restaurant in the picturesque countryside, they are undeterred by the fact that only 100 feet opposite stands a Michelin starred classical French eatery.
     
    However upon encountering the icy proprietress, Madame Mallory (Helen Mirren), the Kadam family realise they may have bitten off more than they can chew. Outraged by the new arrivals, Madame Mallory is determined to have their business shut down. As cultures clash and food flies, a heated battle escalates between the two establishments – until, that is, Hassan’s passion and talent for French cuisine begin to enchant Madame Mallory and even she can’t deny this young chef could have what it takes to garner even more acclaim for her beloved restaurant.
     
    This, along with his new-found friendship with her beautiful sous chef Marguerite (Charlotte Le Bon), starts to weave a magic between the two cultures and, despite their different tastes, they discover an unlikely recipe for success that surprises them all.

    The Grand Seduction

    Plot Summary

    Brendan Gleeson is Murray, a once proud fisherman who now, along with his former colleagues in the harbour of Tickle Head are out of work and forced to live off welfare.  Prohibited from fishing enough to make a living and the community spirit having faded a long time ago, the Mayor comes up with a dazzling plan – a giant corporation need a location to build a factory and Tickle Head could be just the right place. But there’s just one problem – in order to qualify, they must have a doctor in residence. Which they don’t have.
     
    When the Mayor leaves the harbour and takes a job at the airport, he fortuitously stumbles upon Paul Lewis (Taylor Kitsch), an American cricket fanatic and more importantly a doctor, who he convinces to do a one month stint as the local physician.   To encourage Paul to commit to the job for the required 5 years by the Corporation, the townsfolk acquaint themselves with his favourite sport with hilarious consequences, tap his phone to discern his likes/dislikes and do everything in their power to make him feel at home. What ensues is an all-out seduction with Murray enthusiastically encouraging the elaborate deception that will be his only way back to an honest job and a happier way of life. 

    Earth To Echo

    Plot Summary

    An inspiring science-fiction adventure, Earth to Echo captures all the mystery, excitement and wonder of an extra-terrestrial occurrence in a small Nevada suburb.  But at its heart, the movie is about friendship. Our three young heroes – Tuck, Munch and Alex – are a closely bonded trio of outcasts, whose time together is coming to an end.  Their neighbourhood is being destroyed by a highway construction project; forcing their families to move away.  Only the promise of one last thrill together – a journey into the desert to search for the source of strange and mysterious messages that have appeared on their cell phones –can distract them from their impending move.

    Plot Summary

     
    Seduced by dreams of making it big, Gretta (Keira Knightley) and her boyfriend Dave (Adam Levine) move to New York to pursue their passion for music. However, when Dave rejects her for the fame and fortune of a big solo contract, Gretta finds herself alone and far from home.
